Providing Warm Spaces & A Busy December

Jubilee cafรฉ and the Parent-Toddler group continues to provide a place where everyone is welcome and everyone feels valued. December was filled with seasonal activities that helped people engage and make friends.

Providing Warm Spaces

As well as to our regular cafe and toddler groups, opening times will be extended to provide additional warm spaces. This has been generously funded through NHS and Winter Pressure funding.

The cafe will open Saturday mornings 9am to 1pm.

The Parent-Toddler group opens Wednesday afternoons 12pm to 3pm.

December Events

Christmas celebrations in the cafe

Christmas related activities spread throughout December were enjoyed by all. These included baking in the kitchen, where people made bread and stollen, and crafters who made wreaths, mobiles and present boxes, with musicians providing festive songs along with favourite tunes to sing along to.

Volunteers enabled the cafe to stay open during the Christmas holiday period. People living alone or far from relatives appreciated a place to spend time with people who have become their ‘extended family’. The true value of providing this for people was captured when one of our regulars expressed his gratitude, he also said that without the cafe opening he would not have spoken to any one that day. It really did make the Christmas holidays special.

A donation of toys were shared amongst families in the local community.

Jubilee is also grateful to the supermarkets who gave food that was shared with people, making a big difference to the quality and enjoyment of their Christmas.

Children’s Christmas Party

What fun we had at our Childrenโ€™s Christmas party. There was plenty of opportunities to meet Santa with his sack full of presents – he was the man of the moment! The laughter and joyful faces said it all, the children loved the party games, the craft table and party food.

This annual community event is open to school aged Children from Reception to Year 6. A definite diary date for next year!

Our Wonderful Volunteers & Generous Funders

All that we do in the cafรฉ, parent-toddler group and events is only possible because of the commitment of our volunteers and the generous funding from our donors. Our thanks go to them.
