Winter Warm Packs

Jubilee Centre was thanked for their contribution in distributing 256 โ€˜warm packsโ€™ benefitting 548 people in Grantham. These packs, filled with items such as hot water bottles, gloves, scarves, hats and blankets, were created to help people stay warm during the colder months. They were greatly appreciated by the local community.

Supporting Our Community

As part of our ongoing support to the local community we have been speaking to projects that, whilst in the startup stage, are exciting additions to the help that can be accessed according to need; namely Helping Hands, which will provide clothing and household goods, and the Community Larder, which will address food wastage. Referrals between the three organisations mean we can offer a more integrated approach help people in a more complete manner without duplication of effort or trying to do too much on our own.
Vibe Music Cafรฉ

Starting April 24th from 7 to 9pm, this cafรฉ will open on the second Wednesday of every month for 18 to 25 year olds: feeling lonely, anxious, isolated?

Events

Ukraine event on 24 February, marked the 2nd anniversary of the invasion. Although a sombre occasion, the evening focused on celebrating a great country and its people. Many Ukrainians have settled in Grantham and have become a valuable part of our community. Traditional Ukrainian food, a Ukrainian craft stall, and art tables added to the entertainment of the evening. Donations have been sent to a Ukraine charity providing help for people affected by the conflict.

A series of cooking events ranging from Milk Bread & Cookies, to Custard Tarts, to Curries, offered a variety of experiences to learn new cooking skills. Sessions using Slow Cookers had a focus on budgeting during the current cost of living challenges.

During February and March, various themed crafting activities were offered during the Friday morning cafรฉ. These encouraged people to test their creative skills whilst enjoying the friendly chatter over a cuppa. From decoupage coasters and candle holders to themed Easter projects, a variety of skills and techniques were explored by participants.
