Young Creatives, Warm Packs & Dedications – February 2024 Update
Events
Young Creatives โ Some of our young people did an amazing performance on Tuesday 5 December. This group worked hard to bring the best of themselves and showcase their many musical and creative skills and talents learned and developed over the term.
Our annual Christmas party brought many excited children together for a fun time of games, a craft table, photo booth, food and, of course, a visit from Santa. We asked parents and children for ideas for next year, thinking they might like a change, perhaps to have a pantomime performance and to give us ideas of what they would like to do. We had a unanimous response โthis is the best Christmas party, please donโt stop!โ
A series of cooking sessions have been run in January and February. Baking scones, cakes, bread; savoury dishes were curries and casseroles using slow cookers for cost effective meals that met family budget needs.
During the Friday cafรฉ, crafting activities have included: decoupage coasters and candle holders; decorative macrame leaves and water colour paintings for fold-out cards. These are enjoyable activities available for everyone to try regardless of ability. You are invited to take part free of charge.
Ongoing Support for Ukraine: Every Saturday, the Ukrainian hub cafe provides a warm welcome for everyone. Dance lessons are also held on a weekly basis. Other events have included a New Years Eve party; making and enjoyment of an afternoon tea sponsored by Go Pro.

Warm Packs Initiative
Jubilee has been able to supply many families with warm packs to ease the winter energy cost increases. These packs include: blankets, hot-water-bottle, scarf, gloves and other items.
Parent-Toddler Group
Extended hours: Wednesday and Thursday 9.15 to 2.45pm. With the joint support of Winter Pressures initiative and National Lottery Cost of Living funding, we are able to offer extended hours until March 31st 2024. A lunch of soup and a roll is available for anyone wanting to join us, this is free of charge.
We continue to welcome new families to our Parent-Toddler groups. This is a place where children can play, imagine and engage with each other while Mums, Dads, Grandparents and carers get the chance to chat to each other, providing much needed support and the opportunity to develop new friendships.
Parent-Toddler group will be closed during school holidays.
Jubilee Cafรฉ
The cafรฉ has been busy. It provides a warm and welcoming place for people to meet and catch up over a cuppa and cake. Support is available from a range of organisations including the NHS neighbourhood team, Citizenโs Advice, Grantham College and others. Why not pop in to find out more. We are open on
Monday 9:15 โ 4:00pm
Tuesday 9:15 โ 1:45pm
Friday 9:15 โ 12:45
Saturday 10:00 โ 2:00pm
On Wednesdays and Thursdays the cafรฉ is run by a local organisation that supports young adults who have learning difficulties.
Church Family
In January we celebrated the dedication of one of our youngest members. The service asked each of us to love and support the parents and their new baby as we would for our own families. Being a church together is so special and activities such as a shared lunch each month allows the community to bond further.
Our Wonderful Volunteers & Generous Funders
All that we do in the cafรฉ, parent-toddler group and events is only possible because of the commitment of our volunteers and the generous funding from our donors. Our thanks go to them.
